Wesley Two Story
Oak Park, Il - 2006

This 1 ½ story Arts & Crafts Bungalow built in 1922 had a beautiful and classically detailed first floor. But, characteristic of homes built at the turn of the last century, lacked family space and a well functioning kitchen. The second floor, originally just storage space for the 2-bedroom bungalow, had bedrooms and a small bathroom "tucked" under the roof line and "height challenged". A new open architectural stair was designed to replace the existing service stair. The kitchen was opened to, and remodeled with, the existing 3-season room for a new Kitchen, Breakfast, and Family Room. And, the grade level rear entrance atrium gives a more spacious feel to new Kitchen-Family Room space. The second floor roofline was expanded with dormers that now accommodate 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
